Sessions and Fees

Our pre-school has flexible sessions, great for busy parents, competitive rates and up to 30 hours’ free funding available too.

Hunter Hall pre-school (formerly Nutkins Nursery) is open weekdays from 8.15am – 5.30pm, wherever possible we aim to be flexible with sessions (depending on places available).

Flexible Sessions

Our grant sessions run in two tier arrangements which parents can select to best suit their needs.

Tier 1

From 9.00am until 12.00noon, over the lunch period (12 noon – 1.00pm) and then from 1.00pm until 4.00pm

Tier 2

From 8.15am until 12.00noon, over the lunch period (12 noon – 1.00pm) and then from 1.00pm until 3.15pm

You may, for example, choose 3 mornings and 2 afternoons to give your child the experience of both ends of the nursery day, or you may alternatively choose 5 afternoons or 5 mornings etc. The minimum number of sessions you may choose is 2. Places will be offered on a first-come first-served basis.

We are open on a morning from 8.15am and close at 5.30pm each day. If you require extended, wrap-around care during these hours there will be a charge of £5 an hour or part thereof in 15-minute intervals.

As we are a school your child is more than welcome to stay for a school lunch with us. A lunch is chargeable £2.50, which includes a hot lunch or salad option. All fees are invoiced at the end of each term.

Any sessions that your child is unable to attend due to illness, appointments etc are charged for, however, you may take additional sessions in lieu within a week.

We do not charge a retention fee for family holidays or during holiday periods.

Sessions are charged at £5 an hour or part thereof in 15 minute intervals and the hot lunch option is charged at £2.50.

Childcare Funding

Hunter Hall pre-school offers the ‘extended free childcare funding for parents of three and four year olds‘ (also known as the free 30 hours). The extended package consists of the universal 15 free hours which is available to all 3 year olds, starting from the term after their third birthday. The additional 15 hours is an extension to the universal entitlement and is for eligible parents – not all parents will be eligible. Details regarding the eligibility criteria and how to register to apply can be found at the links below. Please note that you must apply the term before you intend to start claiming the 30 hours of free childcare.
