Discover Hunter Hall Pre-school
At Hunter Hall, our experienced and caring team create a Pre-school experience like no other. Set within the beautiful surroundings of the Eden Valley on the outskirts of Penrith, we support children aged 3+ with the time, attention and encouragement they need to learn, grow and become the best they can be.
From September 2026, we plan to expand
our Pre-school to include two-year-olds.

A warm and friendly environment where children feel safe and settled to play, learn and explore
At Hunter Hall Early Years, we provide the children with a warm and friendly environment where the children feel safe and settled to play, learn and explore – the time your child spends with us is precious, so we intend to fill these years with fun, laughter and the making of fantastic memories.
We are passionate about every child in our care, valuing their interests and questions and ensuring happiness is at the core of their development. Not only will our stimulating and challenging provision shape their future love of learning, but it will teach them lifelong language, communication and social skills.
Our Aims
At Hunter Hall, we recognise the importance of child-initiated learning that is based around play, as a fundamental process of learning in the Foundation Stage. Therefore, we aim to do the following:

- Provide quality play in a stimulating, happy and safe environment, which allows the children to develop and learn.
- To promote and encourage self-awareness and self-regulation, enabling children to become leaders of their own learning as teachers support them (where necessary) in their discoveries.
- To develop self-belief, self-confidence, independence, and a positive attitude to learning.
- To encourage creativity, self-expression, and imaginative thinking.

- To foster social and emotional skills necessary for integration within the classroom and beyond, demonstrating kindness and respect.
- To stimulate curiosity and foster skills of observation, investigation and problem solving in all areas of the curriculum.
- Provide a holistic learning experience, covering a variety of skills giving first hand experiences and setting new challenges; helping children appreciate the wonder of the natural world.
At Hunter Hall Pre-school, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We have found that our child-initiated philosophy that is based around play has had a positive impact on the self-belief, curiosity, and happiness of every child in our care. Through play and meaningful interactions with adults, children develop projects based upon their own interests, allowing them to access vital skills on their own terms. Each child is given the time to grow in self-belief, curiosity, and creativity.
