Sedbergh Rugby Coach Visit

Last Wednesday afternoon our Year 4, 5, & 6 boys had a special visit from Mr. James Doherty, a rugby coach from Sedbergh School.

The boys enjoyed playing a series of tackling games before putting these skills into good use in some small sided games. We looked at presenting the ball in a ‘dynamic’ way and the importance of communication in organising your defensive line. Mr. Doherty was very impressed by their effort levels and particularly with their ability to offload in the tackle.

On Monday the 5th of November, as part of their games lesson, we will welcome Keith Robinson, from Newcastle Falcons, for another exciting coaching opportunity. Those girls from Year 5 & 6 who have already attended our contact rugby club, will be able to join in the afternoon session. Please remember your gum shield.
