Key Stage 1 Class Teacher – Full Time

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Key Stage 1 Class Teacher to deliver a high-quality education to our mixed-age Year 1 & 2 class, that reflects the school’s philosophy of rigorous academics balanced with creative, experiential learning in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

The successful applicant will provide a balance of adult-led and child-initiated learning, using play as a key vehicle for exploration, discovery and skill development. They will support individualised learning, adapting provision to meet the diverse needs, interests, and developmental stages of all children.

At Hunter Hall, relationships come first. We know that happy children who feel a genuine sense of belonging will flourish in everything they do, and so we foster an environment where every child feels safe, valued and supported. Through kindness, empathy and shared values, our aim is to build a community rooted in respect and compassion.

We also recognise that the world our children will inherit is evolving fast, so our priority is teaching how to think not what to think. Our forward-thinking curriculum and unique Skills for Learning Frameworks emphasise transferable skills, creative problem-solving and cross-curricular exploration.

As well as looking for a Key Stage 1 Class Teacher, we are also looking for a Director of Music, and so we would encourage applications from individuals who are able to combine both of these roles.

We offer an outstanding opportunity for the right individual to have a real impact on children’s lives, and to develop their career in an innovative school with enthusiastic, confident children and dedicated, supportive colleagues.

To apply, please complete an application form and return this along with a covering letter to office@hunterhall.cumbria.sch.uk.

Any enquiries may also be directed to the same email address.

Closing date: 12pm, Monday 20 April

 Interviews: Week commencing 27 April

The School reserves the right to appoint to the post up to and including the closing date.

Hunter Hall School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
