30th Birthday

In 2016 Hunter Hall School celebrated 30 years of being one of the top prep schools in the north of England.  Hunter Hall has built up an enviable reputation for outstanding education and each and every one of our pupils past and present, as well as staff and parents have added to the rich fabric of our history.  Therefore a celebration for everyone was in order to mark this special occasion.

Over our 30th year we celebrated in a number of ways.  This included inviting artist Joanne Perry to paint a mural of the school with the children, and a curriculum challenge in the classroom with the theme of ‘30’ – be that writing a story in 30 words to researching the names of 30 countries, their location and capital cities.

However, the school hosted an extra special 30th birthday party for present Hunter Hall pupils and their parents, as well as “Old Hunters”.  We also launched our Alumni this year to  keep touch with all past pupils and their families. Over 250 people attended the 30th birthday celebration, including the inaugural Headmaster Mr Aidan Warlow and his then Deputy Head Mrs Leslie Moss.

The afternoon started with a celebratory Pimms Reception in the school courtyard where the school choir and band performed, along with an exhibition of all the schools past memorabilia of years gone by.  This was followed by a vintage afternoon tea, including the school's very own ‘bake off’ competition hosted in the bake off tent and sponsored by The Lakes Free Range Egg Company.

Cricket and Rounders matches ensued for the children and parents, as well as party games and a bouncy castle and slide for the little ones. The day ended with a delicious barbeque and pizzas made to order.

The Head Teacher (the 5th in 30 years) Donna Vinsome commented how wonderful it was to share the special day with all who had an association with Hunter Hall School. She said,

“The level of interest in the 30th birthday has been humbling and many Old Hunters have been in touch even if they could not be there on the day to say what a special school Hunter Hall was and how it really was a stepping stone to launch them onto their next phases of education and careers.”

She particularly wanted to thank all those who helped make the day such a success including the school’s superb parents group who rallied around an astounding number of people to help both in and outside the school and of course the staff and children who all contributed in many different ways.

A very special and proud moment for all associated with Hunter Hall School.
