After School Clubs

A varied programme of activities is available for all children at Hunter Hall between 3.30 and 5.30p.m., throughout the year. It is in this period of the day that there is an opportunity to take on new challenges or to develop skills in a range of sports – in some cases with professional coaches.

Choir and Band practices take place, as do rehearsals for major drama productions. We feel that this is a very important contributor to the breadth of education available at Hunter Hall, and it is extremely well supported.

Tuesday Lower School Art & Craft 3.10-4.10; Upper School Italian Club 3.20-4.20; Upper School Running 3.20-4.20; School Band 4.30-5.30
Wednesday Lower School Yoga 3.10-4.10; Upper School Games Club 3.20-4.20;
Thursday Lower School Football 3.10-4.10; Years 4, 5 and 6 Orienteering 3.20-4.20; Upper School Football 4.30-5.30
Friday Upper School Cookery 3.10-4.10; Lower School Drama 3.20-4.20; Upper School Chess 3.20-4.20.

Varied activities

Sport
Currently, clubs operate in football (with visiting professional coaches), badminton, running, netball and rugby.

Music
Choir has over 40 members from Upper School, Band has 20. Practices take place weekly after school, with regular public performances.

Drama
There are separate clubs for Lower School and Upper School, with many opportunites to perform – often sketches that the children have written themselves.

Environment
Gardening Club provides ingredients for the school kitchen to incorporate in lunches; Wildlife Club has done much to develop the wildlife area within school, and makes regular use of the local environment.

Academic
Italian and Latin Clubs are run at various times of the year after school. Examination Preparation Club provides encouragement in thinking and offers genuine challenge to those preparing for entrance to secondary schools.

Creative
Art and Craft Club runs throughout the year. Cookery Club is equally popular, of course.

Relaxation
Yoga Club is increasingly popular, with some parents waiting for an invitation!.

Quiet
There is an opportunity for quiet reading after school each day, when homework can be completed, if required.
