WELCOME TO HUNTER HALL

I hope that what you see and read here will encourage you to find out more about Hunter Hall School.  This website provides information, but it is the “feel” of the school, together with its wonderful location, that make it such an appealing place to study, and to work.

The school was founded at Hunter Hall in Great Salkeld, about 7 miles from our current location, in 1985.  Over the next 10 years, it steadily grew, and the decision was taken to move to Frenchfield in 1995.  Here, the school has continued to grow in size and, at present, is close to capacity.

The property – a farmhouse and its associated land and outbuildings – has been turned into a school with excellent facilities, at the same time as retaining the charm and character of the original form.  The central courtyard is entered through a farm gate which separates us from the “real” world, and creates a secure and comfortable atmosphere in which children (and staff) feel that they can thrive and prosper.

As you explore this website, you will gain some insight into our curriculum, facilities, aims and objectives.  However, it is by visiting that you will come to recognise the true spirit of the school, and I shall be delighted to welcome you at any time.
